Michal Karnibad will join Otovo in the capacity of Chief Operating Officer on 1 August 2022. She has previously been COO at Threads, an international luxury fashion and styling marketplace, and worked in strategic, operational and commercial roles at PayPal, HSBC and CitiGroup among others.
“Michal will be tasked with strengthening the Otovo platform now that we’re turning into a thirteen country, continent-wide residential solar and battery operation. We have great General Managers in every one of our countries, and we are now building the core organization to support us as we keep progressing at more than one hundred percent yearly growth,” says Andreas Thorsheim, CEO of Otovo. Michal Karnibad will work out of Otovo’s London office and be part of the Otovo management team. She will be in charge of deliveries and supply chain; operations, standardisation and procedures; as well as the people function and Otovo’s shared services.
“Otovo is at an inflection point where the combination of European scale and the software advantage in the platform are about to produce great results in the shape of tens of thousands of solar systems and batteries sold. I am excited to join at this strategically important time for the company,” says Michal Karnibad.
In addition to her track record in scaling leading online platforms and global financial institutions, Michal brings a lot of operational experience from the London startup scene, where she is active as a mentor and non-Executive director. She holds a MBA from Stephen M. Ross School of Business at the University of Michigan as well as a Bachelor degree in Computer Science from the Academic College of Tel-Aviv.
“I look forward to joining a team that is charging ahead in a very promising market, and I am looking forward to applying learnings from leading platforms that I have been working with in the past,” she adds.
