After weathering COVID-19’s impact on the SME travel industry, TravelPerk was preparing to enter a phase of hypergrowth.
Following a $160m Series D funding round, TravelPerk brought in 360Leaders to better understand the structure and roles that would be necessary to help them achieve their scale ambitions.
Our recommendations included:
▪ How executive team roles evolve in the next phase of growth
▪ How to transition ways of working for hypergrowth
▪ How to improve the budgeting process to define strategic objectives and link to communications.
As a result of 360Leaders’ work, TravelPerk’s leadership team is aligned on the roles and capabilities needed for hypergrowth and is in the process of implementing many of our recommendations.
“I expected the final report to contain some helpful ideas, but instead I found there was an interesting insight on every page.”

Klarna partnered with 360Leaders in 2016 to support its global expansion strategy. Though successful in Sweden, the business model was unproven in other larger markets in Europe and they were facing challenges with unique, local challenges in acquiring clients, partners and talent.
At the time, Klarna struggled to attract people that could truly understand Klarna’s vision beyond being a payments company who could give land major merchant clients in critical markets like Germany, Netherlands and most importantly, the UK.
360Leaders helped Klarna to successfully acquire a world-class team of executives that could help scale their business in Europe which included:
International Business Development Directors
Head of Solutions Engineering
Head of Sales UK
Among the hires was Jonathan Sheard, Head of Enterprise Sales UK. Jonathan was instrumental in Klarna’s growth in the challenging but strategically important UK market. After three and a half years, he was promoted to Director – Global Sales Retail and is now responsible for new sales development targeting largest Fashion retailers globally.
In 2016, Klarna announced the expansion of their current partnership in Europe. The following year in 2017, Klarna reported 42% year on year global growth in sales, supported by our team of new executive hires. Brand new partnerships with online retailers also included ASOS and Arcadia Group, which translated to a 145% YOY increase in merchant partners in 2017.
“360Leaders supported Klarna by introducing exceptional business leaders during a phase of high growth in Europe, with roles across Germany, Holland, Scandinavia and the UK. They showed true care and commitment and supported us with opening doors to potential merchant clients and partners”
Mikael Wintzell Klarna, VP Sales at Klarna
