August Equity, the shareholders and the Charterhouse Board were keen to appoint a Non-Executive Chair to act as an independent Non-Executive Director and help the Executive Directors fulfil the company’s potential, raise its profile and maximise the value on future exit. In addition to M&A experience, the candidate needed to have serial Chair experience within the unified communications space, from similar hosted service providers to Charterhouse.

Peter Manning, had multiple chairmanships and a successful career spanning over 40 years in telecoms where he had overseen fundraisings and M&A’s, Buy-and-builds and exits. Formerly CEO of Colt Telecom and HBO Ltd, as a Chair, he notably led the Cityfibre Networks IPO in addition to multiple funding rounds and acquisitions.

Peter was hired as Charterhouse’s Chair in July 2019 and has been able to advise the business throughout the COVID crisis as they lay the foundations for the journey ahead.

James Sherwin – Smith, was a former CEO at a fintech company, with a breadth of experience in finance and technology. Being a trained engineer with an entrepreneurial streak and a magnitude of consulting experience, he specialised in the application of technology in financial services, creating value by enhancing operations on a number of levels.

After joining Vocalink in 2017, the company was acquired by Mastercard. James went on to become SVP Business Planning & Analysis Director at Vocalink, before being promoted to GM – International Managed Services, Real-Time Payments.

Scaling rapidly and having taken on funding, Tyk needed someone smart, collaborative and hands on to manage an increasingly complex international growth journey from a finance perspective.

With an early career in investment management at PwC, Adam has been instrumental in the international growth of design platform Houzz, and later with Verve (now Pollen) in a financial leadership role. Tyk is comparatively at an earlier stage opportunity for Adam, but he will be able to build the foundations of a successful SaaS business in close collaboration with the board and founding team.

At Tyk, Adam will provide vital information to the board for strategic decision making, and engage with the product and tech team to look at monetisation/cash flow strategy around new products.

Noam has over 18 years of experience in data & analytics, machine learning, data governance, predictive analytics, business intelligence and data monetization. As a proficient international executive and entrepreneur, Noam yielded improved performance levels for clients in revenue, profit, customer loyalty, risk management and financial management.

Prior to joining Tandem, Noam was Executive Vice Present of Data and Analytics at Bank Hapoalim, Israel’s largest bank. There he built a Greenfield Data Lake, introduced over 30 open source technologies and launched the AI environment with more than 30 use cases a year. Noam also served as Global Chief Technologies Officer for AI & Big Data at Ness Technologies and launched two successful startups in AI and Analytics across North America and Europe.

At Tandem, Noam oversees the product and technology, ongoing data points, training Artificial Intelligence and Data Governance. His expertise is at the core of the Tandem offering, leading on digital banking, analysis and data insights that inform business strategy and customer benefit. As an ExCo team member, Noam is a key leader responsible for building a digital Product operating for Retail Banking to introduce better service, lower cost and higher return to its customers, allowing people to better manage their life with money.
